Business Analyst/Technical Project Manager

The Business Analyst is responsible for working with clients to gather interactive website, mobile and enterprise software application requirements. Additionally, this position is responsible for distilling business requirements into use cases/user stories. The Business Analyst will work directly with our development team and product owner to confirm use cases/user stories and appropriately distribute into achievable sprints based on understood business objectives. The Business Analyst will be the domain expert for the respective body of work s/he is assigned.
The Business Analyst we seek must exhibit strong technical project management skills and must be capable of, and experience with, managing full life cycle project and product initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Learns client business, industry and competitive landscape in order to provide strategic leadership throughout software project planning phases.
- Understands the business case or cases for development of software while recommending strategic improvements to the project or product.
- Solicits business rules and software requirements from relevant client/product owner resources. Ensures appropriate questions are posed and guidance is provided throughout the development process.
- Generates use cases/stories with team and/or leads the creation of use cases/stories by relevant client/product owner resources.
- Crafts and coordinates process/workflow as necessary between business, management, creative and development resources.
- Provides thought leadership to the creative and technical team in creating architecture, wireframes and other deliverables as needed, based on business rules and use cases/user stories.
- Coordinates prioritization of use cases/user stories into executable sprints.
- Ensures the best practices of Agile Development and/or relevant methodologies are adhered throughout the full life cycle development process.
- Creates or solicits from a project manager the expected timelines for execution of deliverables.
- Manages deliverables to achieve desired timeline, as appropriate to the project or product.
- Provides technical leadership and project management on all assigned projects.
Preferred Experience:
- 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst or similar role
- Experience working as Scrum Master or as a team member in an Agile Development environment
- Previous experience in technical project management
- Previous experience with product management and/or interactive/application development experience
