Challenge:

Build an application for the home brewing community that enables brewers to create, discover and share home brewing recipes. Power the application with the most comprehensive database of beer recipes on the World Wide Web.

Approach:

A&D researched current home brewing recipe applications to design and develop an optimal user experience. Core Brewtoad features and functionality include a custom ranking system, brew variant ancestry, dynamic calculation of recipes before brewed and the ability to import / export brew recipes. Recipes are searchable by properties, including gravity, ABV, IBU, and recipe type (all grain, partial mash, extract, etc.) Responsive design was utilized allowing users to access The Toad via smartphone, tablet and desktop.

Outcome:

While still in its tadpole state, Brewtoad has received phenomenal user feedback from the home brewing community worldwide featuring one of the most comprehensive ingredient databases online. Within the first few months of launching, Brewtoad is approaching its first 1,000 users and 1,000 recipes.
